What can Invisalign_® fix?

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

FAQs

1. How does Invisalign® work?

With Invisalign®, patients wear a set of clear aligners for 1-2 weeks before swapping them out for the next set, thereby gently moving the teeth into the desired position. The aligners are made of a highly flexible, patented material called SmartTrack which is not only practically invisible but also super versatile and comfortable to wear.

2. How long does the treatment take?

The length of treatment time is different for every patient but usually takes 6 – 18 months. Patients with just minor overlapping issues to address may be able to wear their aligners for just three months.

3. What is the treatment process like?

Receiving Invisalign® is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1 – Come into the practice, where we’ll take digital scans using our iTero digital scanner – these will be used to make your Invisalign® aligners.

2 – Wear your aligners for 1 – 2 weeks, before swapping them out for your next set.

3 – Smile widely with your new, straight smile!

4. How often do I have to wear my aligners?

In order for the treatment to be successful in the projected time, you must wear your aligners every day for 22+ hours.

5. Can I remove my aligners?

Yes, Invisalign® can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth as well as for any special occasions or big meetings.

6. Is the treatment painful?

Patients can experience some initial discomfort especially when first wearing a new set of aligners, but they are designed specifically for you and should be fairly comfortable.

7. Will I wear a retainer after the treatment is complete?

Wearing a retainer is advised as it will stop your teeth from moving back to their original position and help you maintain your new, straight smile.

Visited yesterday for checkup/scale and polish. Been without a dentist for three years, so was nervous. There was no need! Kav was absolutely lovely. Didn’t need any treatment (fillings, etc). Kav just gave some sound advice to prevent future problems. Very caring and took on board my worries. Also met Shannon and Sarah who are a wonderful part of the team. Very friendly. Have already booked my next checkup! Would highly recommend this dental practice!

Dr Chadha makes me look forward to going to the dentist rather than dread it as many do! He is much more gentle than other dentists and explains everything he is doing so thoroughly. All the other staff are also very friendly and chatty. The practice is very welcoming and easy to access with its own carpark and the process was very speedy!

I was very impressed with Kav at my first appointment with him for a check-up six months ago. His professional, yet charming and friendly disposition would put any child or adult at ease. I’ve just had a filling replaced, and the painless procedure seemed to take less time than it actually did, and that’s a first! Through each step, Kav mentioned what would be happening, and any anxious patient would be calmed by his reassuring manner. Charlotte silently and efficiently glides around between assisting Kav and ministering to patient. She magically appears wherever she’s needed! Norma (Reception) completes the highly positive patient experience with her friendly greeting upon arrival and departure, and nothing is too much trouble for her when arranging an appointment by telephone. Been a patient here for a while and have just seen the new dentist, Dr Kav Chadha. He was really friendly, knowledgeable and instantly put me at ease. He talked through any concerns I had and was thorough in history taking and the examination. These guys helped me out at incredibly short notice when I was in absolute agony with an abccess. A and E and the emergency dentist could not help but these guys could, went completely out their way to be honest. Under new management but the same excellent personable service seems to be in evidence.
